Web Engineer

VODA.ai is seeking a full-time remote Full-Stack Web Engineer. As part of the team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, including APIs and web servers, that are used by water utilities worldwide. Day-to-day tasks may include designing and implementing web-based tools, integrating third-party libraries, troubleshooting and debugging applications, and ensuring security best practices.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with front-end and back-end web technologies
  • BSc degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript (or TypeScript) and at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Golang, Python)
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Express.js, React, Node.js, Redux, etc.)
  • Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB)
  • Comfortable with integrating third-party libraries and backend REST APIs
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Knowledge of web application security best practices and data privacy
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Basic Unix knowledge and familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies (AWS, Serverless, etc) and Docker/Containers.
